Funeral in Sanjiang
Sanjiang and Zhaoxing in Guizhou province south China are not on everybody's to be visiting schedule mainly because of "time problems". Most people come once in their life to China and want to visit the "real tourist attractions" as the Great Wall, Shanghai, terracotta armies in Xian etc.
Yangshuo and Guilin are on most schedules too. And although Sanjiang and Zhaoxing are not that far from Guilin, it requires some time to travel there. Sanjiang is around 300km from Guilin and almost 400 from Yangshuo (which is considered to be close, in China).
Sanjiang is a magnificent experience and a real time warp especially if you take a guide and hike in the nearby mountains to some small villages. This is what I am always looking for: places where tradition is preserved, customs not destroyed by the "civilized western world".
Zhaoxing is even further away and even less explored. Don't get me wrong, both Sanjiang and Zhaoxing get their tourists, but you can be the only tourist in town for days.
I've been several times in Sanjiang and Zhaoxing. Every time I am amazed by the beauty of both village and surrounding. There's a lot to tell, you can read Here more.
When we started doing our tours in and around Yangshuo, soon we realized that Sanjiang and Zhaoxing should be included, so we offer multiple day tours with treks and hiking to Sanjiang and Zhaoxing. I've never heard people being disappointed, and honestly, I can not even imagine someone being disappointed in such a lovely area as Sanjiang and Zhaoxing. And for those interested in our tours,
check it out yourself.
