This will help you understand what kind of home and service you can expect from the owner. 5. Go through all features, amenities and near by activities carefully and make sure it fits for your requirement and does it included in the rent or cost extra. 6. Keep in mind, unlike hotels, vacation homes are mostly being rented by individual owners, do your own investigation on the home and owner before signing a rental contract with owners. 7. Make sure to get all contact information for emergency including plumbing needs, heating, cooling and etc. Also make sure to get off hours emergency contact numbers to the owners or managers. 8. Treat the home as yours and keep as clean as possible during your stay, which will save you from unexpected cleaning or damage cost after you left. 9. If you are traveling with pets, make sure pets are allowed in the home you rented. Per survey 80% of the vacation homes are not pet friendly.
