Budget trip to Kauai Hawaii? Yes!

I so often hear from others about their dream of going to Hawaii, but how would they ever afford it?!! How I love to share that it can be done and fairly nicely at that.

Lodging -

- though there are some cheap hotels out there, they don't quite have what it takes.

The best way to stay cheaply is to have a rental - condo or cottage type place that offers at least something of a basic kitchen - at least a fridge and a microwave.

I have managed to find places in the $60 per night range, though I have even spotted some cheaper than that.

So, while your lodging might not be a luxurious resort, I have found we spent most of our time outside enjoying lovely Kauai and only stop at our lodging to shower and sleep - why waste money on things you aren't using.

Through hours of searching, I have found many, many websites that offer affordable lodging - but some only offer a few places.

The best sites I have found for Kauai are www.vrbo.com and www.kauaivacationresorts.com as they tend to have a large selection - really something for every budget.

You can stay in gorgeous places on Kauai for around $400 for a week.

The City by the Bay on a budget

The City by the Bay is a perfect destination for families; its unique combination of ethnic neighborhoods and fun attractions make it a veritable amusement park for children of all ages.

Fisherman’s Wharf is the most hands-on and kid-friendly district of the city. Families on a budget should look to the Go San Francisco Card: 45 San Francisco Attractions, Tours, Museums, Activities, Sites and More for 1 Low Price! - Online Sale, Save Now!

Some of these family-friendly places are The Exploritorum, Botanical Gardens, Conservatory of Flowers, Zeum, Cable Car Museum, Harbor Tours, Bike Rentals, Six Flags Marine World and many more attractions.

The card is easy to use, fun, and comes in Adult and kids pricing.

The card also includes discounts for shopping and dining, for added value.

Are you a first time visitor to Boston

For any first time visitor to Boston, there are so many things you'll want to do and see.

When you are visiting in the spring, summer or fall, be sure to plan a historic walking tour of Boston known as the Freedom Trail.

If you don't want to do the whole thing, take it in pieces, or do it over several days.

Don't stress about driving, take the T. It's affordable and easy to get around the city!

Note, the last train runs at 12:45 A.M. Cabs can be a bit expensive for getting around the city so use sparingly if you're watching your budget.

The Boston downtown area is really quite compact and makes this a great walking city. You can see so much more that way. Regardless of what you do, you will enjoy your stay in quaint little Boston.
